The Modern Greek Dialect Research Laboratory, part of the Linguistics Section of the Department of Philology of the University of Patras, was opened in 2000. It boasts a wealth of long-term experience in dialect recording and research.
The laboratory is led by Angeliki Ralli, Professor of Linguistics, and consists of a research team made up of linguists (members of the Teaching and Research Staff of the University of Patras, post-doctorate researchers, doctorate candidates and postgraduate students.
The laboratory operates in a purpose-built section of the Department of Philology (Building 33). It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and has a specialised library containing rare archive material.
